We can’t forget PROMOTE SYNERGY! I don’t have a picture of the post game celebration but you probably saw it. I think… the best part of the game was towards the end when I heard someone yell out:

Did anyone watch the U.S. and Latvia game yesterday? Whoa. The poor Latvia goalie! The score was 12-1! I’m fairly certain there is no mercy in hockey. However on New Year’s we play Canada. We will probably lose.

Is this real life? That was the worst worst Sabres game ever played this season! Congratulations! Thomas Vanek and Jason Pominville scoring in the same game was something we really wanted and needed to see. Scratch that, either of them scoring ever is nice this season.

Why did Chris Neil have to score? Of alllllll the players from Ottawa it had to be him. I would have even accepted Fisher despite the fact he is engaged… (P.S. He should really be careful on the road. Just sayin’.) They are as pretty as Pommer and his wifey.

To top off the worst worst game ROY GOT HURT. I am not pleased. As much as  biotch about Roy, we need his chubby ass points. Stupid Sens and their poisonous steakhouses and finger biting players.

Thank goodness for Ryan Miller, yeah?

The Blues were a different story. I didn’t get to catch most of this game. The battery in my laptop works every once in a while so when I get the chance to use it I take it. Grier and Timmy put us on the score sheet big time- yes and even YoYo. I think I even saw a topshelfwheremommahidesthecookies by Tim in this game. I could be wrong, it wouldn’t be the first time. Looks like I missed a nasty game. I shall watch it after work! Yay Kaleta!

Looks like the Penguins join us tomorrow at 7pm. Oh joyous day. I’m terrified.

According to the High Times editorial office, the Dragpo is “a dragon-hippo hybrid that lives in our minds and eats away our sadness.” That about sums up this week in Sabres.

Good game thingys:

• Dru receiving a penalty for roughing “airing” too many “grievances.”
• Goals by GOOSE and TIMMAY!
• Basically all of the second period.

Thats about it. Mike Green ate my team. I miss Kaleta.

Thank goodness for Drew Stafford interviews! Woo! Not to get all squee-ie on you but I love him. I seriously LOVE him. I freaked out when he waited to the last minute to sign with the Sabres and this is half of the reason why. Can you picture a team without Staffy? Let me answer before you say anything. No, no you can’t picture this team without Staffy. And who else would we yell “Drrruuuuuuu” at?

My three favorite moments from his segment are as follows:

(1) Shirtless Sabres. We NEVER see shirtless Sabres. Also, Adam Mair having tape on his back reading “Mair?” Made me giggle.

(2) “It’s not even a real holiday. It’s like Flag Day or Canadian Thanksgiving.” -Steve Montador

(3) Clarke and Tyler’s faces.

I couldn’t get the gif maker to work. It kept failing on me. I have about 50 billion screen shots of Drew Stafford. SCREW FREE INTERNET SOFTWARE! Instead, I give you Dru’s one-armed power workout in digital short form. You can use this to set the tone.

This post turned out a lot perkier than I intended. I guess the Dragpo is real after all. Uh… umm… boo we lost. I’m sulking and angry and wearing lots of black.

The Kaleta has been awesome and so it’s a bummer that he got annihilated by Ruutu which brings me to my sickly emotions of…”NO!” and other such expletives. But alas, the Goose is back with his 80% face-off pwnage. So damn the man it’s Rex Manning Day!

Early signs of failure by the Sabres worried me. A loss against both the Sens and Leafs would have been pretty hard to swallow. I guess we could have been happy we, at least, beat the Habs. Nay. Tonight we got to see two Toronto goalies and the Toni Lydman Experience (also sounds like a killer band).

I want to head back to the food poisoning thing because that totally sucks just as much as Kaletzy being punched in neck by Sir Colin Campbell. Ah savoir-faire. But that song has been sung and George Bush doesn’t care about black people. Ruff says of the Sabres,

“There was a couple reported [cases] earlier in the evening around 8:30-9 p.m. Then at midnight I got another call where four or five players were sick and throwing up,” Ruff said. “They didn’t come to the meeting in the morning. Some guys we really had in the doubtful category. We tried to just lighten up on their shifts.”

Roysie was on Kiss this morning talking about the pukefest and denies being involved with any sort of disgustingly epic, ill-starred event. I want names! Who was all sick? Everyone but the following listed in Sabres Edge were probably super sick last night. Why did the team call up Lindy at midnight to tell him that their “tummy hurted?” I suppose someone has to administer intravenous therapy. Why not the coach, yes? Nurse Lindy wears several hats on this team.

Anyways, the Leafs:

Update: I swear sometimes I’m just that good. I had a sick feeling earlier in my stomach. It’s like we’re one. J.V. quotes:

There were guys who typically skate a lot better who couldn’t skate. End of story.”

Ewwwww. Goose was holding their long flowing hair as they puked in the stalls together. Because that is what all hockey players so when they’re sick. THE HABS SET THEM UP. They made them dirty food. It takes a few days for food poisoning to set in. A few days ago there were here. THERE! I bet they slipped Pommer some meth. *shakes fist* Kaners would never…

Apparently face-offs don’t mater all that much without Goose de Gaustad… unless your name is MATT ELLIS whaaaaaatttttt.

From calling Tyler Myers a pterodactyl to oddly placed poinsettias in studio, this game was a Versus game through and through. When did we start spelling pterodactyl with a “p?” Anyways, I’ve also learned that Four Habs Fans have been cheating on me with Katebits (and Heather B. may skip the following part). If they could remove my name from their phone… Huge. Quickly (watch the “slow jam remix” for amazing Tiger fun).

Kaleta continues his hot streak although I don’t necessarily believe it’s a “streak” per se because there is no doubt he possesses the ability to score. Timmy is great. Sekera and the like are great. Habs clearly weren’t bad. Sigh. If Mairsy had accidentally punched one of the obsequious refs, I would have been happier. That word was for Adam Mair.

Grr-ate! 4-3 Sabres AND RYAN MILLER IS SO COOOOOL.

I feel like we’ve played the Canadiens de Montreal about a million times already this season. We should be prepared by game time, correct? On top of experience, the Sabres are burning up the conference ranks like they just came down with STD’s. In fact Millsie should rename his blog “Ramblings of a Syphilitic” because that’s how awesome he is right now. Woo playoffs!!!1

I’m just noting that maybe Royzie should work on his face-offs because Matt Ellis is a little bit better than him. Also, Patrick Kaleta has 76 hits. The closest Montreal has on that is Moen- and Kaleta’s only getting like ten minutes of ice time! That’s funny, right?

I have no idea what else is going on with the Habs so I will assume they are sucking. I’ll be back later for some more commentary after the game.

Washington Capitals=Deferred Success

Along with all this great news and yet another Millsie shut out, I received my passport in the mail today. Now I can travel all the way to Canada… The weather is hideous as well so maybe they will cancel the class for which I have an exam if I hope really hard.

Maybe you’ve noticed, I turned on the snow machine. Soon enough we’re going to need a snow plow around these parts – on Sabre Kallisions and in real time. In fact, I think that playing the Devil’s the other night was quite ironic.

I’m wondering why Versus picked the Devils and Sabres game to air. Of all the teams they wanted to see the Devils play the Sabres? Maybe they’re the ones who’ve been secretly watching Jersey Shore.  I mean you’ve got to love their announcing, right? I didn’t watch the entire game but I basically heard something like: Andrej Sekera. Sabres defensemen. He’s from a town of 500 people. His father came on a trip with his team. With the dads. And the Sabres. Yep. Andrej Sekera. They also said Brodeur is working on a shut out so he obviously doesn’t know the unwritten rules of hockey jinxes… that didn’t seem to work AT ALL.

I just… everything… the penalties… PATRICK KALETA?! Wha happen?
