Adam Mair gets to stay in Buffalo! Hooray! I think I would need more time for my wounds to heal if he left – definitely longer than Daniel Paille but less than if it were Tim Connolly. I was almost upset with Mike Grier being on the roster. Every time I walked by ESPN on the TV in school I stopped to see if Mairsy was still here. Then one of my classes got cancelled so I basically started stalking the TV. Fate, people, fate.

I think next wednesday I’ll head up to the NU men’s game after class. I haven’t seen one yet and they are pretty much blowing it this season. Last time I went to several games and they played pretty well every time. I think there is a direct correlation between me and the guys winning… Also there is a men’s basketball game the 17th at 8am. Whaaaat? I don’t know but it sounds fun and I think it’s for ESPN. I just want to see purple painted chests and enthusiasm at 8am.

I was only half into the game last night. I was sort of busy with the travel channel and their website. Anthony Bourdain doesn’t have twitter and that saddens me. I think he’s too badassy for that.

The parts of the game that I did catch were not all exciting.

(1) Enroth wore the #1. I kind of hate when players wear the #1. Still love him though.

(2) 0 for 7 on the power play and we lost to the Bruins.

(3) Derek Roy scored a goal which apparently only impressed Cellino and Barnes because even Rick Jeanneret sounded bored. Hey, you know what? Go Royzie! I like when a Sabre shows some initiative.

You could complain but they’ve done pretty awesome the rest of the season.

I’ve been seeing pictures of the waterfront/canalside and it looks nice. If I learned anything, it’s that we need tourists to come downtown and not just locals. How much did you love the Albert Einstein looking guy with the bow tie?

2. Derek Roy and his POWER PLAY GOOOOAAAALLLLL. Oh yeah he’s a star! Last time I listened to the radio, the guy lied to me and told me Derek Roy scored when he did not. This time I watched it on TV and heard it straight from Kevin Sylvester’s mouth. For his gift I believe he deserves a week’s worth of free love and cash money from Cellino and Barnes. ♥GoDerek♥

1. What trumps the Sabres? Only the weirdest press conference ever. On my way to school I heard a segment on Shredd and Ragan of Brett Favre’s groin injury. I literally laughed my ass off. Brett Childress just had the biggest WTF moment I’ve ever heard in my life. Wild boar hunting? Bills, let’s hire him.

Mairsy has a new b-log post up for the week and speaks of the stupid flu that’s making all our players sick.

Clarkey instated a rule wherein all swine infected Sabres are required to wear masks (or something like that). Mair says of his precautionary OCD, “Actually, Lindy came back and snapped a few pictures on his camera phone at one point.” Share pease k thx?! One of the segments at the arena spoke of Adam Mair and his nerd-like tendencies. This week’s entry clearly illustrated his intelligence. Define cognizant, Google! “Adj; having cognizance.” Well why didn’t I think of that?

Also which Sabre wifey/girlfriend is pregnant? Pommer! A BABY POMMERDOODLE! I would like to send baby Sabre puck pacifiers and teddy bears. Too cute to handle.

I missed the Leafs game but I just happened to catch both of Tim’s goals. Nice job, Connolly. I like when he scores because it’s always interesting. I hope that with Marty Biron in goal tonight, he’ll wish him a Happy Halloween (but not an Adam Mair Halloween… those are scary).

Well, now that the “adults” deemed my friends and I “too old” for trick-or-treating and no awesome happenings are happening I’m all over the Islanders game tonight. Maybe the Sabres aren’t so keen on sharing their Halloween costumes but the Islanders organization sure are. I miss Marty interviews… sigh. Hopefully, all the flu infected Geese and Sabres that left last night’s game withhold from bobbing for apples and overdosing on candy corn before puck drop.

I found an interesting link on Jezebel about the lady bloggers.

Sometimes I read sites like Deadspin and want to claw my eyes out. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the site but I can only handle so many pictures of cheerleaders before I search “paul gaustad abs plz.” Other times, the majority of times, it doesn’t even seem like the girls are a minority. I think we have a pretty decent representation of females especially since we’re talking about a male dominated sport. I’m fairly certain I’ve never felt belittled by another guy blogger either… at least not a local blogger. Ha.

They go on to give possible reasons for the shortage of ladies. I disagree with the fact that women who don’t blog are “too nice.” According to most everyone I’ve met, I’m extremely nice so there goes that theory. Another person says that we’re just stronger than most females. Maybe… not. I would say more opinionated than “strong” or maybe just different. Better different! I have tons of opinions but I don’t really voice them all in public because I think it comes off as supremely annoying. Plus I don’t like unhappy people, it’s just my thing.

Whatever the reason, I would say that there a lot of misconceptions about blogging. Mainly, we don’t all blog in our mother’s basement eating cheesy poofs in a bathrobe playing world of warcraft for 18 hours a day. Even so, there is nothing wrong with junk food or zombies.

This feels so right.

I listened to the first twenty minutes of the Sabres game in the car and they had a female announcer. Whoa. A lady. She was voicing the play by play with a guy in the most absurd way I’ve ever heard. Although seeing it was on the radio I suppose it was helpful (maybe to someone who was completely clueless). “Buffalo starts off from right to left…” Ok. Thanks. Do they skate with both feet on the ground as well? They didn’t announce MacArthur’s goal either, but the man did remind us the score was 1-0 Sabres and “what a nice wrister.” It was rather entertaining in the midst of trying not to die on the leafy wet road.

I’m not surprised the Devils held back Andrew Peters. I wonder if that was a request or because they just knew he wouldn’t be needed. I think that would be a wrongful conclusion seeing Tim Kennedy can sometimes get insane with rage. With his missing front teeth. Chomp chomp.

Oh jeez, I love that Tyler Myers had his nana and papa come to New Jersey. Oh more lovely jeezes that Goose and Pommer scored.

These two blurbs are completely random and off topic but I think this may interest you (and/or *tsk* your head):

(1) A friend of mine met Marshawn Lynch at a bar a while after he was arrested. He said he was in jail with the lead singer of his favorite band… I would never have pegged him as a heavy metal fan.

(2) Enjoy the World Series with a snuggie. A  Yankee snuggie. I bet the New York and select Jersey tourists are eating those up.

Clarke MacArthur was interviewed via facebook and some of his answers are both fun and extremely disheartening.

When asked who is the biggest jokester in the locker room, he answered Derek Roy. I don’t know about you but I want to know what Royzie does that is oh so highlarious. “All day?” Gimme deets, sweetheart.

When asked about the epic pigeon of the game, he says that it left with Spacek. NOOOOOOO! The pigeon is gone. GONE! I figured it would go out on top with its rightful owner but this is too hard to accept right now. Sigh. The pigeon is now a dirty French whore living in the shoddy red light district with Andrei Kostitsyn. And probably Tampa Bay Lightning and their stripper, hockey-playing fools that I adore so dearly.

He kind of sucks in the shootout doesn’t he? Hank Tallinder, you may proceed.

When asked what his favorite sports team is other than the Sabres, he pulls out the classic Sabres PR book and responds with… the “Buffalo Bills” of course! Like, duh. We are so good.

Memo to whoever told poor Clarkey that he looks like Screech form Saved By the Bell: Please exit the room immediately. Thank you and goodnight.

I’m thrilled beyond words to see we won last night. I really thought we were going to lose that one. It was even sweeter to see Tampa’s goalie flip a shit and chop his water bottle. Something about crazed goalies just makes me happy.

Ryan Miller made some miracle saves last night. The one where he stopped St. Louis. Twice. The shootout almost killed me. I couldn’t believe that Marty missed the net. It seemed like every shot on goal was completely weak on Tampa’s part.

Derek Roy. I was thinking that maybe he should get on that “scoring goals” thing and then he takes a ridiculous angle shot and scores. I was hoping he’d score another in the shootout but one is good for me. [Ed.] Staffy deserves some bonus points.

Seeing Goose and Myers fall over after the game on the ice was almost the cutest thing since Kennedy’s baby face (Kennedy totally rawks for helping Grier’s goal). Games like this completely illustrate team bonding. You know the guys popped some champagne for Kennedy after that goal because even Lindy Ruff was all smiles. Woo!
