Philly & Montreal: 6-4 Flyers
When I came home, the Bell Centre (Center?) was in the midst of the second period. In my Centre, the food order was messed up for the second time. Montreal gets millions, I get free canolis. It’s only fair.
Period 1 (Pre-Dani viewing goals): Plekanec, Umberger, Kovalev.
Final ♥Pepe Le Pew LaPierre♥ reference: Assist on Kovy’s goal. Yep, that was cutesy. I love it.
Period 2:
- Briere gets crosschecked from behind (a few times). That rule is pretty much non-existent in the playoffs, right? Cue boos directed towards DB.
- Flyer sprawls over the top of the bench and clings for life to avoid “too many men” penalty. I want a still of that.
- Higgins goal. Olay.
14:02 Richards glove goal reviewed. He is victorious.
15:44 RJ Umberger scores his second goal of the night. Happy Birthday.
17:00 Hartnell scores and “MontrealfansareSTUNNED” says announcer. Timing is everything – Pricey was stunned.
Fun Fact: Reporter Chris Simpson’s brother, Craig, played for the Sabres. According to Wikipedia, “during the 2006-2007 season Simpson was the recipient of the “Most Handsome Man in the NHL” award.” He was a Sabre therefore he was handsome. And I’m a bias Sabre fan.
Thoughts: Esurance commercials are annoying.
Period 3:
- Kostitsyn 1 (the blonde one) ties the game at 4-4.
- Scoring chance by DB.
Onomatopoeia: Tink. That would be the sound of the post.
- Scottie Upshall goal. I’ll remind you, we share a birthday.
- Empty net goal by Knuble. Olay.
Ending thoughts:
- Pricey will take a lot of heat, but hopefully people remember he’s only twenty.
- If I cheer for Pittsburgh, they will fail. Go Rangers!
- I want a personalized brick at the Bell Centre. It would read, “Bandwagon Hab fan: April 6th – May 3rd.” Nice, eh?
