San Jose & Team USA

Dallas & San Jose: 3-2 Sharks

Hello, game six.

Goal 1: Lehtinen.

Fun Fact: He’s from Espoo, Finland. Oddly enough, so is his teammate, Niklas Hagman. Maybe it’s not that odd. They could be related, or friends, or maybe it’s just a common area in Finland.

Goal 2: Captain Morrow scores for Dallas.

Not looking good for San Jose, but it’s still the second period and we should know that “now and again we try to just stay alive. Maybe we’ll turn it around, cause it’s not too late. It’s never too late.” That’s what Three Days Grace always says.

Goal 3: Milan Michalek (you guessed it, Joe Thornton assist).

Goal 4: “Hell hath no fury like an ex-Sabre [Brian Campbell] scorned.” I think that’s how the saying goes.

See, it pays redeem players. And hits by J Roe at a 2-2 tie heading into OT are fun too. This is the part I can’t watch, but I will anyways because it’s the most exciting part game I’ve seen in a while.

Goal 5: San Jose’s Joe Pavelski.

Oh yeah! OT goals rock, unless you’re cheering for Dallas (Go Stuuu!)…

HA HA HA: The Sharks did a story on the name Joe.
Curtis Brown: I still heart him still despite taking a penalty that could have possibly been the death of their playoff hopes.

*This morning on the news they were reporting from the 5K run/walk that supported Heritage Centers with some of the Sabres (I wonder if they ran or walked). They said we don’t tolerate athletes with their noses in the air. The Sabres are good people and that’s why the fans feel comfortable reaching out to them. I agree. I think we’re really lucky to have character players on our team. You always hear Rob Ray, Kevin Sylvester, and Mike Robitaille talking about the players doing charity work and even some that’s not all over the news, their work ethic, and how they’re good guys (especially Pie and Paetsch). Thumbs up to that.

*About Team USA, I’ve been thinking, it must be strange having Lindy Ruff (or whomever their coaches were) all season, then being told what to do by another coach. I wonder how they adjust to different coaching styles or if it’s any different from playing when you’re younger and you have a new coach every season. Maybe it doesn’t matter at all, like in soccer when you have a new coach every fall, spring, winter, summer league. I’m feeling team Latvia.

BAD KEN: Dany Heatley and Jason Spezza broke up! Gasp! It’s almost as horrible as when Lindy broke up Tallinder and Lydman.

Good Canada: We can bid on game-worn jerseys… from 2007. Umm, that’s kind of gross. Regardless, I want one of those stale, stinky things.

Good Canada Part 2: Blue is a good color on Getzlaf.

So I don’t offend certain guy fans that think I’m sexist, the women’s USA won gold last month. Ponytails are hot.
