Game Flour

8:00 Red Wings @ Pens.
Pens have a chance to tie it up tonight. So even it up and drag it out because I want these Finals to go as long as possible. Go all seven games! Holmstrom of Detroit may or may not play. Hopefully, it’s not storming there as it is here. Blahh.
So, FSW [...]

Love It

Soccer News:
Do You Like David? Cali? Canada? MLS? Do You Get CBC? I’m talking about soccer, people, soccer!
Saturday, LA Galaxy and Toronto FC play at 3:30 (CBC or FSNW). I’m watching FSN because I magically get those crazy channels. Come on, Canadians, I’m so close to the boarder! Why can’t you let me watch you? Anyways, should be [...]

News From Vancouver

Rookie defensemen, Luc Bourdon, of the Canucks passed away in a motorcycle accident at the age of twenty-one. His vehicle crashed with a tractor trailer. In 2005, he was Vancouver’s first-round draft pick and played for the Manitoba Moose and the Canucks.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and teammates.

Goose Sign-age (Darcy, You Could Be The Man Once Again!)

Dear Darcy Regier,
Hi. It’s me again. Please sign Paul Gaustad.
Please?
I realize twenty-seven years and $95,068,984,908 is a bit… much. I was never any good with math, but I’m sure that wouldn’t fit in the cap. However, five years is my minimum requirement. I’m talking bare minimum. I mean look at all that Goose has done [...]

Get It On

Tonight at 8:00 is game three of the Finals hosted by the Pens. They’re calling for a whiteout for the next two home games. Sounds like a plan to me.
Today I learned Hal Gill’s real name is Harold Priestly Gill III. He also wears a size 15 shoe but crams his feet into a size 12 skate. [...]

Excuse Me, While I Die Of Embarrassment In The Corner

What happened to the Pens on Saturday? 4-0 Detroit? The tables have turned and the Pens were the team shut out. It’s only one game. However, as teachers like to remind us on a daily basis, one point could mean the difference between passing or failing. And Marc-Andre Fleury? My brother said, “That’s why I never run out onto [...]

Penguins & Octopi & Sharks! Oh, my!

Today at 8:00, the Stanley Cup Finals begin in Detroit. We know this. What we don’t know is which team will come out victorious. Old Timers (depth and experience) vs. Youngins’ (spunky, hunky, and Sid’s French accent), both teams deserve to win. I think we have a nice little (long) series on our hands.
Detroit is disappointing me [...]

Grab Your Rally Helmets!

That means you, Goose.
I love being a Sabres/Bandits Insider! Next Thursday the Buffalo Bandits Lacrosse team are holding a rally at TITS [if people start searching for porn on my blog, I’ll be so ticked] in honor of their NLL Champ status. The Bandettes will even be there. You know how extremely pumped I am [...]

[My] Sabres History

Disclaimer: Before you read this, I’m only twenty (if you didn’t know already) so my memories only go back to the early-mid 90’s. No French Connection here, but I do have a puck autographed by Rick Martin. Oh, yeah, Detroit in 6.
Hockey in my family dates back to my father playing at Hockey Outlet, when it was still called [...]

Marty Biron + Chris Drury = High School Musical Love?

You know I had to show you this, right?
Also featured: Marty answers the burning question on French players trash talking in French (“la blah blah blah.”), Mike Richards analyzes his mouth guard skills, and awkward bloopers.
Questions:
1. Why didn’t Flyers Fans give Marty red carpet treatment before? (don’t we do that A.S.A.P.?)
2. What’s with that dinosaur in the [...]
